Picture 5 Increasing the retention effect of the dry detention reservoirs along both banks of the Morava River and moving protective dikes further away from the riverbed
The riverbed capacity will be kept for the water flow of 550-600 cubic metres per second. Water flows with higher capacities will be overflowing protective dikes into dry detention reservoirs on both sides of the river. The retention effect of the dry detention reservoirs will be raised by newly implemented forest zones and lifting-up levels of roads (during their possible reconstruction) running through the river valleys. Water flows in the riverbed will be constrained by current weirs at Kromeriz and Nedakonice. Protective dikes will be moved 50-100m from the riverbanks. Space between dikes or earth banks will be used for renewing bottomland ecosystems.
